I just spent the past 8 days in Shanghai attending IE Business School's Global Immersion Week. The program is an optional part of the Global Management module I'm scheduled to participate in to wrap up the last third of my MBA program and I must say that the experience was well worth the price of admission.
We were hosted by Fudan University and held several interesting classes in the School of Management campus. We also visited companies like Nokia, Li & Fung and Lonking. We also wrapped up the week with an outreach activity with Stepping Stones teaching migrant children English in a local primary school.
Aside from the obvious networking opportunities, of which there was certainly never a shortage of, the program also provided for a unique opportunity to learn about another culture and people.
I think it is safe to say that all those who participated left happy and fulfilled with the experience. Hopefully in the coming days I will be able to share more details on the wonderful week I spent with my friends and colleagues.
